What are your operating hours?

How do I get to Mount Lotus Hospital?

Mount Lotus Hospital is centrally located so that you can get to the hospital easily irrespective of whether you use public transport or personal vehicles. We are  located at No. 102, Galle road, Mount Lavinia. The entrance has wheelchair access and there is ample parking and a drop-off area at the entrance to the hospital. The patients and visitors who are using the public transport also have easy access to the hospital since it is located near the main bus stand in Mount Lavinia.

Public transport is freely available to the hospital at any time of the year.

Trains
The hospital is located about 800 meters from Mount Lavinia railway station. From the railway station you can walk alone  Samudrasanna Road to the Galle Road and towards Ratmalana for about 50 meters and you will find the hospital on your right hand side.

Buses
Buses operating on the following bus routes stop near the hospital:

  • 100 Panadura – Pettah
  • 102 Moratuwa – Kotahena
  • 255 Kottawa – Mount Lavinia
  • 101 Moratuwa – Pettah

Taxis

What are the COVID-19 precautions taken by the hospital?

Mount Lotus Hospital has ensured that all COVID-19 precautions stipulated the the health authorities of Sri Lanka are strictly adhered to. These include:

What are the payments accepted by the hospital?

What is the procedure for attending your outpatient clinics (OPD)?

Our Out Patient Department is open 7.00 am to 8.00 pm, seven days a week and is located on the 2nd floor of the building. You will be investigated for your condition by our consultants using a range of specialized tests and we will discuss the treatment options with you. Your appointment may take up to three hours or more and you need to arrive on time in order to avoid delays in treatments. You will be able to select from a number of consultant Eye & ENT specialized. Please bring the current list of your medications and the clinic reports relevant to each appointment.

You may visit our hospital if you experience:

  • Any impairment of vision or hearing
  • Any illness or injury to the eye, ear, nose or throat or
  • Any other common health problems treatable in OPD

The seriousness of your condition will be assessed by a triage nurse when you arrive to determine how quickly you need to be seen. This is why occasionally, some people arriving after you may be treated before you. If you have a health condition, such as fever or common cold, wound cleaning, etc. we recommend that you see our general physicians in OPD.

Also, if you are a registered patient of Mount Lotus Hospital and a privilege card holder, please make sure that you bring your card whenever you visit the hospital for treatments.

How do I prepare for surgery ?

We conduct surgeries for the patients at our fully-equipped modern surgical theaters which are located on the 5th floor of the hospital. Your surgical procedure information sheet and our staff will explain about your procedures and pre-operative instructions.  If you are having elective cataract surgery you can be expected to be discharged on the same day. Many other eye, ear, nose and throat surgeries are also performed as day surgeries. If you need to stay admitted you will be given the option of staying in the ward or in a compostable individual room. 

Do I need to be specially preparade for an Eye appointment ?

If you are attending an eye consultation, we advise you not to drive as eye drops may be used which could blur your vision temporarily and therefore pose a risk to you and others when driving.  If possible always visit the hospital with a guardian or someone you trust. 

Do you have interpreters available for me to communicate using my preferred language?

Yes, we do. In order to ensure that you understand your medical condition, we can organize an interpreter to communicate in your preferred language.
